The Dow of Challenges

I know times are challenging and I don’t want to minimize that. I know there is growth through challenge, yet that doesn’t make the challenge any less difficult. Whether the challenge is financial, a relationship or staying hopeful while being witness to today’s ugly; Challenges can throw us off center. So coming back to your center over and over again provides stability and helps to calm. Here is a mini meditation to help anchor within yourself when needed.

Take a moment and be still, close your eyes, place your hand on your solar plexus, pause, then visualize a big round ball that looks like a sun radiating light, notice it come through your crown and park in your solar plexus. Feel that radiate through you for a moment. Now, visualize yourself dropping into that light, merging with it until you feel anchored in the light. Safe within yourself.

Now see yourself grow roots and anchor into a rock bed within Earth. See yourself held and anchored by that rock. Breath.

Know that you can come back as often as you need to anchor. Now open your eyes, and take a breath.

Remember you may sway with a challenge like a tree or anchor chain and still be anchored and rooted. A boat doesn’t sink unless water gets in on the inside of the boat. Keep your vessel afloat. Use your tools to stay anchored within yourself. Remember you are a sovereign being, possessing authority over yourself. Stay centered and rooted.

Understand challenges teach us many things about ourselves, including what we value. In my experience is it is best to know your value code as you face challenges, as you will be less likely to live with a later choice or decision you regret. My experience is that I make peace with myself by becoming more congruent with living my values.

Values are also an energetic character construct, think of the phrase what is that individual made of? Challenges test our values. They show what we are made of in any given moment, a conflict challenge often places us in fire, and fire can burn.

Maintaining your sovereignty or personal power is a key element of walking a challenge successfully. Handing your sovereignty to another will rarely resolve the challenge in a way that fits you.

It can feel overwhelming to hold our power, and not give it away, it requires courage to keep your power, to hold your space in the moment. Yet it is through this effort of maintaining your center point that you are most likely to develop outcomes that are most workable for you.

A poem by Maya Anthony:

“Amidst the howling winds of fate,
We stand, unyielded, hearts innate,
Each gust, a trial we navigate,
In storms, our strength we stipulate.
Battling gales, relentless, fierce,
Our resolve, no fear can pierce,
Through each tempest, we traverse,
Our courage, the universe.
With every trial, we grow more bold,
In storms of life, stories told,
Victories in our hearts, we hold,
Against the storm, we unfold.”

Remember stay strong amidst the challenges, use your tools, read poetry, allow the challenge to deepen your values and character. Stay in tune with yourself, for within you lies the GPS system to walk through your challenge.

And I leave you with this affirmation that came to me during one of my own.

“My Strength is greater than my Challenges”

May you know you are greater than your challenges.

Namaste
